A New Home in the Same Location
Written By Dr. Gary Holfinger
As most of you have seen, we’re in the process of building a new East Suburban facility. It will be located on the corner of Woodville and Pemberville Road – adjacent to our current building. We hope to move into the new building in the early spring of 2015.
Our current building was built by Dr. Herold Harter in 1959. When he moved his practice from his garage - which was also on the property - into the building, it had only one exam room. It was built to accommodate only one doctor with two assistants. We’ve been at this location since May of 1981. Since then, we’ve grown to six doctors and nineteen technicians/assistants. We’ve expanded and remodeled the building four times, but the modern delivery of veterinary medicine requires an updated facility. While we love the old building, it simply can’t handle the needs of our practice today.
Veterinary care now uses computers, digital radiographs, ultrasounds, and internet to connect with specialists. The new facility will seamlessly incorporate all of that. Plus, it will have more exam rooms, as well as have more room for hospitalized pets. All of this will allow us to serve our clients’ needs better. We’ve done our best with the design to make the building efficient yet comfortable and pleasant. We hope that you find the new facility enjoyable!
